Why did you launch Room Recipe?
Carolyn saw a need for a type of kit for people that wanted the benefit of our expertise in design but also want to work at their own pace on one room at a time and be a hands-on collaborator of their own space. Creating a recipe for a room gives clients the freedom to cook it up, adding to or subtracting from the recipe as they like.
Who does the design?
Each room is given to our project manager who works closely with Carolyn to select all of the furnishings and finishes and put them together into a cohesive design specific to the space.
Can you incorporate some of my existing furniture?
We will always do our best to incorporate a client’s favorite items within the design. We do need images and measurements of each piece and if a piece is upholstered, a swatch of the current fabric on the piece. We may also suggest another fabric for re-upholstery if the current covering does not work in the new design scheme.
How do you get to know each client when you have never met them?
We carefully review your questionnaire, your inspiration images and items, and your photos to create a personalized, customized design. The more information you send us, the better we can determine your tastes, needs and challenges for the room. We welcome tear sheets, loved fabric swatches, pages ripped from magazines, photos of items you love…anything that will tell us more about you.
When should I submit payment?
Payment should be submitted at the beginning of the process. We cannot begin work on your room(s) until we have received payment in full.
When will I receive my design?
Your box will arrive in 4-6 weeks. If you have requested multiple rooms, we may need some extra time. We will always let you know up front if extra lead time is ever needed and the reasons it is needed.
If I have questions about my RR design after I receive it, will someone be available to help me?
If you have any questions about your design, please let us know. We want you to be happy and we will do our best to help you understand everything you have received.
Do you ever continue to work with an RR client after they have received their box?
Sometimes, clients need additional help with purchasing and execution. We are happy to help you through the process and are available on an hourly basis.
Have you ever had an unhappy client?
We have had nothing but happy results since we launched the program. The fabulous part of RR is that you are in charge of how much or how little of our design you use. We strive to inspire you to create an amazing room.
What is RR+?
Many clients want to make their box more custom by adding “trade only” fabrics and furnishings to their design plan. We will happily accommodate this request. Trade-only and custom-designed pieces are billed at the net price plus 25% commission and purchasing is done through Carolyn Rebuffel Designs, LLC.
